Welcome to the Baumjohann Lab!

The research group of Dirk Baumjohann is located at the Biomedizinisches Zentrum I (BMZ I) of the University Hospital Bonn (UKB), Germany. We are part of the Medical Clinic III for Oncology, Hematology, Immuno-Oncology, and Rheumatology as well as the University of Bonn Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation. We study the complex interactions of dendritic cells, T cells, and B cells in infections, vaccination, autoimmunity, and cancer. We are particularly interested in T follicular helper (Tfh) cells and germinal centers (GCs), in which Tfh cells provide critical help to B cells for the generation of high-affinity antibodies.
